Hello World (Again)
Hello World (Again)
GiSquared has been my domain since 2006. Back then it was a computer repair and IT services business — “Get Involved, Go Inspired” was the tagline, and GI² was the logo I was way too proud of.
The business evolved, I moved on to cloud architecture, and gisquared.com sat parked for years. A domain I kept renewing out of stubbornness more than purpose.
So here we are, twenty years later, turning it into what it probably should’ve been all along: a place to write stuff down.
What Goes Here
This isn’t a polished tech blog with SEO-optimized listicles. It’s a public notebook. Expect:
- Cloud and AWS stuff — it’s what I do for a living
- Homelab adventures — Kubernetes clusters, monitoring stacks, self-hosted everything
- AI experiments — I have an AI agent that helps run my life now, and yes, it helped build this site
- Side projects — some serious, some absurd, all in various states of completion
- Random thoughts — because sometimes you just need to write something down
The Stack
This site is built with Astro, styled with Tailwind, and hosted on Vercel for free. Content is Markdown files in a git repo. No database, no CMS, no monthly hosting bill.
The irony of an AWS architect hosting his personal site on Vercel is not lost on me.
What’s Next
I’ve got a backlog of things to write about — my homelab setup, the AI agent workflow I’ve been building, and a few side projects that range from “genuinely useful” to “why does this exist.” Stay tuned, or don’t. This is mostly for me anyway.
